Beasts

Beasts are the most common threats found across Zerith, ranging from simple predators to nightmarish creatures twisted by their environment.

Unlike constructs or undead, beasts act on instinct. They hunt, feed, and defend their territory with little regard for anything beyond survival.

Some are natural creatures encountered in the wild. Others have adapted to darker places dungeons, ruins, and forgotten lands becoming far more aggressive and dangerous than their surface-dwelling kin.

Vermin & Carrion Feeders

Carrion Crawler

A grotesque scavenger that thrives in darkness and decay. Carrion crawlers lurk in dungeons and ruins, feeding on the dead or creating fresh corpses when the opportunity arises.

Stirge

A small, bat-like predator that feeds on blood. Stirges swarm their prey, latching on in groups and draining victims before they can react.

Stirge Suckerling

A juvenile stirge, smaller but no less dangerous in numbers. Suckerlings are often encountered in clusters, overwhelming prey through sheer volume.

Apex Predators

Vicejaw Crocodile

A massive, territorial predator known for its crushing bite. Vicejaw crocodiles lie in wait near water, striking with explosive force before dragging prey beneath the surface.

Observations

Beasts are unpredictable but rarely malicious. Most encounters occur when a creature is hungry, threatened, or defending its territory.

Unlike other threats across Zerith, beasts do not scheme or plan they simply survive.
