Eladrin
Eladrin are beings of the Feywild whose forms and identities are shaped by the season to which they are bound. From the moment of their birth, each eladrin is attuned to one of the four seasons, and that connection defines not only their appearance, but their temperament and presence in the world.
Their features reflect this bond hair, eyes, and even the tone of their skin shifting to mirror the essence of their season.
The Seasons
The Feywild of Zerith is divided into four seasonal domains, each with its own character, influence, and way of life. Eladrin are intrinsically tied to these regions, and rarely stray far from the nature of their origin.
Spring
Eladrin of Spring embody renewal, growth, and change. They are often curious, energetic, and quick to act, driven by a desire to experience and reshape the world around them.
Summer
Summer eladrin are intense and passionate, defined by strength, emotion, and presence. They burn brightly, whether in battle, leadership, or expression, and are often the most direct of their kind.
Autumn
Autumn eladrin are contemplative and perceptive, tied to transition and balance. They are often negotiators, observers, and keepers of knowledge, understanding both growth and decline as part of a greater whole.
Winter
Winter eladrin are distant, controlled, and often unsettling to those unfamiliar with them. They value precision, restraint, and clarity, acting with deliberate purpose and little wasted motion.
Courts
Eladrin society is organized into courts, tight-knit groups that function more like extended families or clans than rigid political bodies. Multiple courts exist within each seasonal domain, each with its own traditions, relationships, and internal dynamics.
While courts may differ in philosophy or temperament, they are bound by the shared nature of their season, creating a layered and interconnected social structure.
Observations
Eladrin are not easily understood through mortal perspectives. Their actions are shaped as much by their seasonal nature as by personal choice, making them seem inconsistent, or even contradictory, to outsiders.
To interact with an eladrin is to interact not just with an individual, but with the season they embody.
