Spirits

Spirits are the lingering echoes of the dead, bound to the world by unfinished purpose, powerful emotion, or unnatural forces.

Some drift quietly, barely aware of the living. Others are consumed by what they were in life, rage, grief, duty, repeating fragments of existence long after their bodies have faded.

Encounters with spirits are rarely straightforward. They may be hostile, confused, or even capable of being calmed, if their burden can be understood.

Ghosts

Ghosts are the most recognizable form of spirit, often appearing as pale reflections of their former selves. They are typically tied to a specific place, object, or moment, unable, or unwilling, to move on.

Dwarf Ghost

The restless spirits of fallen dwarves, often bound to the halls they once called home. These ghosts tend to linger where they fell, especially in places tied to strong memory, feasting halls, battlements, or sacred chambers.

Such spirits are not always hostile, but their unrest can make them dangerous to the living.

Spirits of this kind were encountered within Stonefast, where the dead still lingered in the ruins of their final gathering place.
