Alexander Johannes Siegfried was born to a family that had status, power, and money. Axel only cared about the third thing. At first he stole directly from the family coffers, using it to fund his outings with his friends, where they ran around the city of Westbrook, harassing anyone who dared look at them funny. Calling themselves the Hammerheads, they truly were becoming a menace. Once his family found out, they cut him off and kicked him out. Instead of heeding them, he instead broke into his old home, stole everything he could, and beat his father within an inch of his life with a leg he had broken off the dining room table. Unfortunately for him, while all he cared about was the money, power and status would be the prevailing force. The police tried to capture him, and he fled east to East Haven, hoping to lie low, and perhaps resume his life of petty crime and harassment.
It was not meant to be though, as authorities loyal to his family were waiting. He managed to evade the local police long enough to sneak onto a boat, headed to Porin. He changed his name to Axel, the first name he could think of when confronted by the captain. Not fond of stowaways, the captain kept him on the straight an narrow, teaching him a discipline he had been lacking up to that point. Axel warmed to him, working hard on the ship, trying harder than the rest of the crew. He was the first one up, the last one to rest, and took on the duties no one else wanted. Upon reaching Porin, that discipline paid off, as Axel reached the port town, killed the captain, took his belongings, and fled into town with no one even suspecting the the hardest working crew mate could possibly be responsible.
Wandering aimlessly for a few years, Axel tried to rough up a puny looking old man in a robe. This is when he ran afoul of Zanzer Tem. Never one to pass up an opportunity, Zanzer Recruited Axel to come work his dungeon and salt mines. He was to pretend to aid adventurers captured by Zanzer, befriend them, then betray them, helping the denizens of the dungeon to beat and torture them until the submitted, broke, and resigned to work in the salt mines until they perished. This was a nice deal for Axel, being paid to embrace his nature. It worked great for years, until he met Drafous, Ember, and Revon. They managed to actually escape, and when he went to betray them when numbers were on his side, he was slain with the rest of the monsters he had aligned himself with. So ended the tale of Axel Siegfried.
