Stonefast Tales - The Settlement of the Mud Heap
One tapestry tells of Goznin Stonefast mediating between a local orc and a gnoll in dispute over a mud-heap west of the mountains. Both sides accepted his judgment because, only a race who hated them both could be impartial.
The agreement was fair. The aftermath was not: the orc-owned grove, belonged to a powerful druid, who killed the Orcs as they desecrated the land. The tapestry doesn’t present this as failure, only as a reminder that diplomacy cannot save those who refuse to respect it.
Together, these tapestries establish Stonefast’s identity: not conquerors, but judges.
