Aelthirion Rosethorn, known as the Rose King, rules over the city of Rose in the Spring Realm of the Feywild. While many Eladrin devote their lives to the study of magic, Aelthirion devoted his study to the blade.
In the year 53, Aelthirion made his pilgrimage across the Feywild. As the future King of Rose, Aelthirion wanted to see the world and meet it’s denizens before becoming ruler of the City which guarded the entrance to Snapdragon], seat of the Spring Realm. With his fathers blessing, he set out on foot to travel the land on what was to be a year to two year journey across the Feywilds. Instead, his journey would take much much longer. Detouring to the Tower of Sand in the southern Summer Realm, he sequestered himself there for 30 years, learning all he could at that location. In the Autumn Realm, he visited the now established Spiral Tower, studying with the wizards there for close to 100 years. Continuing on to the winter realm, he lodged at The Glass Tower for another 50 years. By the year 250, when the finally returned home, his martial prowess and abilities with a blade were unmatched, and his ability to combine them with his arcane talent made him unstoppable. In the year 300, he assumed the throne of Rose, and was king for less than year when war found itself upon the lands of the fey. Legions of Orcs and Trolls appeared to the southwest of Rose, making straight for Snapdragon]. The army of eladrin, armed with spear and sword, went to meet them, but were outnumbered five to one, and morale was low. Then Aelthirion took to the field though, his legendary skills with a blade proved true. He slew close to 900 foes that day, and was said to be untouchable, and no enemy seemed to be able to escape his assault.
As he focused and trained, others followed in his footsteps, calling the technique the Way of the Falling White Lotus. Few masters all of the arts it had to offer, While Aelthirion decided to push himself further, augmenting his attacks with martial flourish so taxing it was considered a risk to the body. He cared not, perfecting his particular art, known as the steps of the Steps of the Rose King. Only a few of the most elite Eladrin were ever able to follow in his foot steps.
