Session 3 - Zanzer Tem’s Dungeon 3

Exploring further they encountered sprites guarding a great green crystal, as well as a workshop containing several gnome prisoners Willy, Billy, Gilly, and Zilly, who had been forced to work the forges for Tem’s operations.

The party freed the Gnomes and secured the area, using the forge chamber as a defensible resting location, taking a moment to heal their wounds and steel themselves for the next steps.

Not long after leaving the forge, the party encountered one of the dungeon’s more dangerous prisoners: Kris Hoyt.
Hoyt appeared to be a desperate captive and spoke with the party for some time. Through questioning and careful observation the group eventually realized the truth, Kris Hoyt was a wererat.
Despite realizing the danger, the party decided to release him anyway, hoping he would want to join them to escape. Predictably, Hoyt betrayed them almost immediately. While they dispatched him, it was not before Revon was bit. For a tense time afterward, the group worried that Revon might have contracted lycanthropy. With Drafous’s assistance and some careful treatment, Revon managed to fight off the curse before it could take hold.

The encounter served as a harsh reminder that mercy inside Zanzer Tems Dungeon often came with a price.
Looping through the dungeon, the party made their way back to the exit with minimal resistance at the point, but also freeing several slaves toiling away in the mine. At the exit, they had a choice, they could either climb up, or down. They instead descended into Stonefast, resting before moving on.
