Session 2 - Zanzer Tem’s Dungeon 2

Soon after, the group discovered a wizard’s laboratory filled with arcane equipment used for enchanting and disenchanting magical items. There they found magical weapons, armor, and enchanted gear.

Refusing to remain helpless, Pruz armed herself from the laboratory’s stores, and Snivel eagerly followed suit. The goblin proudly took up a weapon of his own, determined to help fight their way out rather than remain a bystander.

From that moment on, both Pruz and Snivel actively assisted the party as they pushed deeper into the dungeon.

Further exploration revealed that the dungeon was far more organized than they had first assumed. Zanzer Tem’s monsters lived and worked throughout the halls like soldiers in a fortress. After bartering with some Gnomes in the kitchen for some spices, the moved further forward, until they found a large dining hall. Rather than immediately attacking the creatures inside, the party decided on a risky deception. Pretending to be members of the dungeon’s workforce, aided by Axel’s surprising familiarity with the place, they attempted to blend in among the denizens. For several tense minutes the party sat among the dungeon inhabitants, pretending to belong there while quietly gathering information. The scene was both absurd and strangely effective, until battle broke out, and the group, forced into combat, slew many denizens of the dungeon.

Further past the dining halls, they encountered more Gnolls, and even another “Zanzer”. It was now, with another leiutennant, Axel finally betrayed the party. It made little difference as Snivel and Pruz joined in the fight with the heros, and they quickly slew them all just the same. While the found stairs leading up, the felt it was bad to leave slaves and possible guards to follow them, so they doubled back.
