Evoden Wizards
Evoden wizards are masters of eldritch energy and elemental manipulation. Everything about them is the study of powerful direct magic. While their fire spells can be used for heating, and their cold spells for food storage and to resist the summer heat, what they are known as are war wizards. Anybody with enough coin may hire them, as they act as freelance mercenaries. Cities hire them to join armies, often turning the tide for who can afford them. Gangs hire them to keep their members in line, while city guards hire them to fight the gangs. The only group that seems to not care about them are the Landiss, though they have a way of dealing with Evoden that means they don’t have to fight fire with fire.
Evoden Academy
When the mundane army attacked, it was a trivial matter to drop the soldiers as the came into range. What the Evoden didn’t expect was the corpses to rise as quickly as they fell. While their spells were truly destructive, as the undead advanced citizens and wizards of the academy began to fall, and also join the ranks. The undead were organized, finding weak points that were less defended and exploiting them. By the time all hell had broken loose, the Evoden were already nearly beaten. Once control of the undead was lost, they turned on their soldier companions, growing their numbers, and infecting all in their path and anyone they could find. Only a handful of the attacking soldiers lived to tell the tale, as the undead army marched north to Melanii, a trail of blight in their wake.
